The vineyards of La Gería
With their traditional methods of cultivation, the vineyards in the centre of the island are a protected area. Single vines are planted in pits 4-5m wide and 2-3m deep, with small stone walls around each pit. This agricultural technique is designed to harvest rainfall and overnight dew and to protect the plants from the winds. The vineyards are part of the World Heritage Site. A visit to one of the many family owned bodegas in this area is a must do during your stay.
La Graciosa Island Day Trip
La Graciosa is the smallest inhabited island of the Canary Islands and remains unspoilt with no roads, just 500 inhabitants and fantastic white sandy beaches, a perfect place to spend a day of your holiday. With its relaxed and under developed vibe, the island prides itself on resisting the pull of mainstream tourism and its magical charm comes from its simplicity.
Lanzarote Retreats offers guests the opportunity of spending a day on La Graciosa, including return boat trip, lunch and a visit to the islands best beach, visit our Days out, Sports and Activities page for more information.
