Casa Hibiscus

Casa Hibiscus – a modern, semi-detached holiday villa – is situated in a well-maintained, private and gated complex of six holiday homes, which share a solar-heated swimming pool. Set just back from the sea in the traditional Canarian fishing village of Punta Mujeres, the holiday villa has been individually furnished to a high standard with families in mind, sleeping up to six guests, plus cots. Casa Hibiscus can be rented alongside the smaller Casa Lila, which is next door but one, making it perfect for families or friends travelling together.

Casa Hibiscus is entered from the private, fenced and gated terrace, leading straight into a light and airy open-plan living/dining room, which has been furnished in a simple, contemporary style and has TV, DVD, basic satellite and CD/stereo. Laid out over three floors, the villa has stair gates fitted throughout to ensure peace of mind for guests with young children. The dining area has seating for six guests and a fully equipped, bespoke wood kitchen with granite worktop, large fridge-freezer, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, handblender and child-friendly plastic cutlery and tableware. Also on this floor is a twin bedroom with a modern, full bathroom next door.

A skylight maintains the light and airy feel above the wooden-balustraded staircase, which leads to the first floor. Here, the south-facing master bedroom has a king-size double bed, fitted wardrobes in the dressing area and a balcony, with table and chairs, overlooking the pool area and beyond to the sea and village. The third bedroom has a set of bunk beds and room for a travel cot. Between these two bedrooms is a second full bathroom.

In the basement there is a laundry area, patio drying area and a storage room that’s ideal for any water sports equipment.

Outside, the fenced and gated terrace – ideal for families with younger children – has two sun-loungers, dining furniture for six and barbeque, making it perfect for al fresco eating.

The price per night is based on upto 4 guests sharing Casa Hibiscus. For upto 6 guests, there is an extra charge of €10 per person per night.

Local area, facilities and services

Punta Mujeres has the beauty and tradition of being a Canarian Fishing Village along with all holiday amenities such as local restaurants, supermarkets, bakers, sea front tapas bars and much more. A wonderful place to holiday and experience the true Lanzarote lifestyle.

In the village of Punta Mujeres, there is a pebble beach which is great for snorkeling and sea pools which are protected from any waves.

This area of the Lanzarote coastline is renowned for its spectacular beaches, one of which is in Arrieta in the neighbouring village. This sandy beach is great for surfing or simply relaxing. The popular beach bar at Arrieta also has a small children's play park, plus there is a public shower and W.C area which can be very handy when you are travelling with small childern!

The mountain Village of Haria is just a short drive away. Known as "The Valley of a Thousand Palms", the town has a spectacular location and the views out to the ocean are breathtaking. Every Saturday morning, there is an artisan market, visit our Local Markets page for more information.

There are a number of golden sandy beaches on the way up north to the fishing village of Orzola. From here, there is a local ferry over to the neighboring island of La Graciosa. For more information on how to visit La Graciosa, visit our Days Out, Sports and Activities page.

Due to its rural location, there are some fantastic walking/cycling trails from the village along the coast, either north towards Orzola or south to Arrieta, Mala village or Guatiza, home to the famous Cactus Garden.

The northerly region of Lanzarote is fantastic for walking, mountain biking, swimming, surfing, windsurfing, road cycling, hand and paragliding, fishing and bird watching.

Further afield

Within a short drive from the village of Punta Mujeres, you will be able to experience the beauty and tranquility of northern Lanzarote.

The tropical bird park in Guinate with its wide variety of animals, birds and plants is very popular with families. The atmospheric caves and lava caverns of Jameos del Agua and Cuevas de los Verdes are both amazing and unique examples of the work of Cesar Manrique. The viewpoint at Mirador del Rio, looking out over the island of La Graciosa, is a perfect spot to get away from it all, be still and reflect.

Guestbook

“ Stayed for a week in Casa Hibiscus in May 2010. The owners were very hospitable , friendly and obviously cared about customer service. They even gave us a lift to a local restaurant and back. The house is very clean and well equiped in a pleasant, quiet Spanish Village with small bars and two good local restaurants. There are idyllic quiet beaches just North of the village. Great place to stay if you want to avoid busy resorts. ”

- Pollitt Group, May 2010

“ Casa Hibiscus - Perfect little get away, thank you ”

- Paddy and Lucy, November 2009

“ Casa Hibiscus - We stayed in Casa Hibiscus for a week in October half term. We had a great time! The villa itself was clean and modern and the added child-friendly touches were a bonus. With a lively 2 year old we certainly needed the stair gates and the gated pool! The village itself was lovely and quiet and we enjoyed evening walks to the local tavernas and restaurants. We'd certainly recommend a visit! ”

- The Bentley Family, November 2009
