Casa Lila

Casa Lila, a modern-style holiday villa, is situated in a well-maintained private and gated complex of six holiday homes, which share a 3.5 x 5 meter solar-heated swimming pool. The villa is the perfect choice for a beach holiday – for couples, families with young children and for guests who wish to take a villa holiday alongside friends or family. Casa Lila can be reserved alongside the three bedroomed Casa Hibiscus, next door but one.

Casa Lila is featured in Which? July 2010 as a "good place to stay" in their travel guide to Lanzarote.

Casa Lila is situated in the tranquil coastal village of Punta Mujeres, where guests can experience the laid-back Lanzarote lifestyle. Yet it is also just 15 minutes’ drive from the popular Costa Teguise resort, with all its amenities, golden sand beach and watersports.

The villa, set just back from the sea, is laid out over three levels and is fitted with stair gates for the peace of mind of guests with very young children.

Ground floor: The entrance to the villa, at the rear of the south-facing private terrace, leads into a light and airy lounge overlooking the terrace and outdoor dining area. Cosy and homely, it is well-furnished and has a TV, Basic Satellite, DVD and CD player. Adjoining the lounge is a fitted kitchen, complete with cooker, electric hob, microwave, fridge and toaster. This level also features a separate dining room with seating for six, built-in cupboards for extra storage and a bathroom with shower and WC.

Outside, the south-facing terrace, which has pleasant views to the swimming pool and decked relaxation area, sun loungers, BBQ and solid wood furniture for al fresco dining. There is also a garage.

First floor: The bright and spacious master bedroom has a double bed, dressing area and a south-facing balcony with swimming pool and sea views. There is a large en-suite bathroom with bath/shower, WC and washbasin. A further bedroom has twin beds and built-in wardrobes.

Basement: There is a utility area with a washing machine, patio drying area and storage space for water sports equipment.

The price per night is based on upto 4 guests sharing Casa Lila. Pricing includes the local tax - IGIC at 7%. As per the price increase from 1st July 2012.

Local area, facilities and services

Punta Mujeres has the beauty and tradition of being a Canarian Fishing Village along with all holiday amenities such as local restaurants, supermarkets, bakers, sea front tapas bars and much more. A wonderful place to holiday and experience the true Lanzarote lifestyle.

In the village of Punta Mujeres, there is a pebble beach which is great for snorkeling and sea pools which are protected from any waves.

This area of the Lanzarote coastline is renowned for its spectacular beaches, one of which is in Arrieta in the neighbouring village. This sandy beach is great for surfing or simply relaxing. The popular beach bar at Arrieta also has a small children's play park, plus there is a public shower and W.C area which can be very handy when you are travelling with small childern!

The mountain Village of Haria is just a short drive away. Known as "The Valley of a Thousand Palms", the town has a spectacular location and the views out to the ocean are breathtaking. Every Saturday morning, there is an artisan market, visit our Local Markets page for more information.

There are a number of golden sandy beaches on the way up north to the fishing village of Orzola. From here, there is a local ferry over to the neighboring island of La Graciosa. For more information on how to visit La Graciosa, visit our Days Out, Sports and Activities page.

Due to its rural location, there are some fantastic walking/cycling trails from the village along the coast, either north towards Orzola or south to Arrieta, Mala village or Guatiza, home to the famous Cactus Garden.

The northerly region of Lanzarote is fantastic for walking, mountain biking, swimming, surfing, windsurfing, road cycling, hand and paragliding, fishing and bird watching.

Further afield

Within a short drive from the village of Punta Mujeres, you will be able to experience the beauty and tranquility of northern Lanzarote.

The tropical bird park in Guinate with its wide variety of animals, birds and plants is very popular with families. The atmospheric caves and lava caverns of Jameos del Agua and Cuevas de los Verdes are both amazing and unique examples of the work of Cesar Manrique. The viewpoint at Mirador del Rio, looking out over the island of La Graciosa, is a perfect spot to get away from it all, be still and reflect.

“ This was our first time to Lanzarote and we were pleasantly surprised by what the island has to offer. Casa Lila was spacious, modern, comfortable and well equipped including everything we needed for a toddler! The sandy beach at Arrieta was only 5 minutes away and we also used the pool. I would definitely recommend hiring a car, we went out exploring every day. In particular we liked the surfing beach, Famara, and we particularly liked the village of Teguise where we ate at La Cantina but there appeared to be lots of other lovely restaurants. The vineyards are well worth a visit to stock up on some fine wines and we enjoyed visiting a number of the attractions related to Cesar Manrique whose influence on the island has ensured it remains characteristic and picturesque. The weather was a lovely temperature, even though there were a few showers, we couldnt believe it when we arrived back in the UK to snow! ”

A bientôt. ”

“ We had a great stay at the Casa Lila. Punta Mujeres is a lovely village and it's a great location to visit most of the intersting sites of Lanzarote. We found all the pieces of information given in the booklet left at the villa very helpful. Next time we'll stay a little longer (we only stayed 3 days!) ”

- Marina, October 2012

“ We stayed at Casa Lila for a week in early June 2012. The property is beautifully furnished and equipped, and very spacious! The was a welcome pack of Pink Cava, Milk, PG Tips and Crisps awaiting our arrival which was a lovely touch. The pool and court yard area is great, and despite sharing with a few other villas it feels very private. There are plenty of great restaurants and beaches in walking distance (particularly in Arrieta), but we would wholly recommend hiring a car to explore the rest of this beautiful island. ”

- George and Katherine, June 2012

“ This was our first time in Lanzarote and the first time we stayed in a fixed accommodation (Casa Lila). We had a lovely relaxing time (if only possible with 2 boys)! Casa Lila is really lovely and a great accomodation to stay in. The village is quiet (loved it) and a good starting point to explore the island. ”

- Else, Bart & kids, August 2011

“ Just back from staying at Casa Lila. Probably one of the best generally equipped Villa's I have ever stayed at. Punta Mujeres is fairly quiet but great location for relaxing or exploring the island. Michelle and her team are very helpful and great fun! We will definatley be using Lanzarote Retreats again but in another location to experience other locations. Casa Lila is a lovely villa and we do not see how anyone would be disappointed staying here however a car is essential as not much nightlife nearby, but we went for a relatively relaxing holiday so were not too bothered. We actually got engaged whilst there!!!!! Thanks for an enjoyable holiday Michelle.... ”

- Martin & Daniela, July 2010

“ Stayed at Casa Lila in Punta Mujeres. The guys at Lanzarote Retreats were very helpful and we had a great time in Lanzarote. The villa was excellent and exactly as described. Punta Mujeres itself is pretty quiet but a great spot for exploring the rest of the Island. ”

- J Page, January 2010

“ We stayed at Casa Lila, Punta Mujeres for a week at the end of November. Our holiday was just perfect, away from any of the busy tourist areas and every detail had been thought of in the Vila, I would highly recomend it. Michelle and Tila couldn't have made us feel more welcome and we are looking forward to our next visit in the Spring. ”
