We always like to promote local businesses and are now using this very nice company as the supplier for our arrival gift of soap shampoo and shower gel which all guests receive in their welcome pack. By prioritising local producers we are supporting our island and nurturing our ‘micro’ economy, rather than adding to the environmental burden of importation.
We selected Lanzaloe also because of their eco credentials, they are the best grower for us, all their products are produced from Aloe Vera grown locally in Orzola, Lanzarote, using 100% organic farming methods.

Aloe Vera background:
Aloe Vera is a succulent plant, an evergreen perennial, originating from the Arabian Peninsula but now growing wild in many tropical climates around the world. Lanzarote provides the perfect environment for its growth. It has been widely cultivated around the world, and has become naturalized in North Africa, as well as Sudan and neighboring countries, along with the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, and Madeira Islands.
The species is popular with growers as a medicinal plant and for its interesting flowers, form, and succulence. This succulence enables the species to survive in areas of low natural rainfall.
Aloe vera is used in traditional medicine as a skin treatment. In Ayurvedic medicine it is called kathalai. Early records of Aloe Vera use appear in the Ebers Papyrus from the 16th century BC and in Dioscorides’ De Materia Medica and Pliny the Elder’s Natural History – both written in the mid-first century AD. The plant is used widely in the traditional herbal medicine of many countries.
