Earlier this month The Dolphin Inn kindly hosted a charity day organised by former Lanzarote Retreats team member Heidi.

We were delighted to donate 2 free stays, but the ultimate delight came from seeing so many friends and other businesses on the island coming together to also get involved. The event raised €2,235 which will be shared between two amazing charities.

Blue Hair Day 2016 raised £29.000 in the UK and we are so proud to have helped push that amount up and over £30,000 going to Harrison’s Fund.

Calor y Cafe will receive the other half for their amazing work in helping to feed and offer support people here in Lanzarote who are facing struggles all year round, not just at Christmas.

Harrison’s Fund is a great charity that raises money to fight Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy please take a moment to check it out HERE. A while back Harrison’s father raised a large some by competing in a full Iron Man event whilst carrying his son!

Ironman triathlon is well known as the toughest single day challenge you can undertake – a 3.8km swim, a 180km bike ride and a 42.2km run. Alex, Harrison’s dad, carried his 35kg son the whole way, hauling him in a catamaran for the swim, a trailer as he cycled and finally pushing him in a racing chair for the full marathon distance!!
