Diving on Lanzarote Canary Islands
Lanzarote is an ideal and popular location for a diving holiday offering divine diving all year round. This Volcanic Canary Island offers a variety of dives such as; shallow patch reefs to deep water, walls, caverns, overhangs, holes and wrecks which are virtually intact.
Lanzarote is the most easterly Canary Island and has volcanic origins which provides some spectacular and stunning natural formations where volcanic features are prominent, such as caves, caverns and lava tubes. Adding this to a tropical climate you will find the water temperature year round very inviting. There are seasonal differences in under water life, for example the arrival of the Angel sharks in October. Generally, when diving on Lanzarote, you will find an abundance of marine life, with over 500 different species of fish amongst wrecks and volcanic caves.
Lanzarote has some stunning marine life fed from the deep rich Atlantic waters, these include Angel Sharks, Large Groupers, Giant Tuna, Barracuda, Mola Mola and just about every type of ray you can imagine. You might even see the odd pod of dolphins.
Lanzarote offers some of the best diving in Spain and diving takes part on the eastern more sheltered side of the island.
