Find out more about the Village of Arrieta in our Arrieta travel guide.
Arrieta
The village of Arrieta has 400 inhabitants and is set in the northern municipality of Haria, the most traditional area of Lanzarote and ideal for the more independent traveller. This northern part of Lanzarote does not offer purpose-built resorts such as Costa Teguise, Puerto Del Carmen or Playa Blanca. Arrieta is a small traditional Canarian fishing village which has learnt to adapt to meet the demands of some low-key tourism. Among other things, the village offers wonderful sea front fish restaurants, a very good pizzeria take away and a supermarket. As with other villages in the north, Arrieta is peaceful, tranquil and is ideal if you are looking to be away from the neon lit bars and nightclubs found within the tourist resorts of Lanzarote.
Arrieta is one of the prettiest and most authentic fishing villages to still exist in Lanzarote today. It remains unspoiled and there is a rustic charm to many of its historic houses and coastal alleyways.
Arrieta boasts a beautiful beach called “Playa de La Garita” which has fine golden sand and is 810m long. This beach has a restaurant and beach bar and also WC/showers, parking and play park. The waters generally remain calm throughout the year. This beach is ideal for first-time surfing, body boarding, sunbathing, swimming, wave jumping, sand castle making, sunrise spotting, fishing and dining at the beach bar or restaurant.

ParaskeviExcellent place to relax and enjoy Lanzarote and come close to nature. Spacious shack tastily furnished and cosy and protected from the wind.
JulieEco Village Finca De Arrieta offers a real experience… Renata welcomed us like friends, very warmly and with great simplicity, and gave us sound advice and answers to all our questions. The setting is beautiful and typical, with superb cactus, an unusual swimming pool and very pleasant, zen-like shared spaces. The accommodation is all different with real charm: we were with our family at the Eco Surf Shack and it was PERFECT for our holiday! Everything is tastefully decorated and very practical. We loved the breakfast on our terrace with a visit from Zack the cat, the original swimming pool, the honesty shop, especially the bar, Tabayesco and its cacti, the paella at the beach restaurant which was excellent, the cool nights, the peace and quiet of the village with its animals, and watering the cacti and thinking of the planet!
Leonard MonniIt’s really hard to convey how mesmerising this place is, you feel like you are living in paradise where everything harmoniously fits into place. Walking through this village (or finca) invokes a sense of peace and freedom, you are surrounded by palm trees and yurts which create an exotic environment. I was supposed to stay here for only two weeks, but as I was having such a great time I decided to extend my stay. The staff is amazing, everyone is always smiling and happy to engage in small talk. I stayed in the Surf Shack and in the Eco Beach Yurt, and both of them were great, cooking in the open kitchen overlooking the desert is really priceless. The beds are really comfortable, the mattresses are thick and there are loads of different comfy pillows, the yurts have great insulation, and I always slept really well. It is also a great place to work from – I was attending online classes from my university in Milan – Finca de Arrieta has great wifi and many common areas where you can meet other guests and study or work remotely. I will definitely be coming back soon! LM
