Tabayesco is a hamlet located on the north coast of the island of Lanzarote. The beautiful and tranquil hamlet is situated in the municipality of Haría and is known for its stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and its rugged landscape. Tabayesco is home to a community of locals and expatriates. The hamlet is very close to a small beach (Arrieta Beach – Playa de La Garita), several restaurants and bars. It is also a very popular destination for cyclists and hikers who come to explore the rugged landscape of the surrounding area. The hamlet of Tabayesco is surrounded by ‘terracing’ this is where the Eco Vineyard Container Cottage is located. Terracing is a traditional agricultural practice that has been used in Lanzarote for centuries. It is a way to maximize the use of available water resources and protect crops from the island’s harsh climate. In Tabayesco and Lanzarote in general, terracing is an important part of the agricultural landscape and is recognized as an important cultural and historical practice.

The closest beach ‘Playa de La Garita’ is located just 1km away from the center of the hamlet; and just a 5 min drive to the village of Arrieta. View our blog on Arrieta for more info.

The Tabayesco road, also known as the LZ-10, is one of the most famous cycling routes on the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. It is known for its challenging terrain, stunning views, and its popularity among professional and amateur cyclists alike. The road stretches for approximately 10 kilometers and rises to an elevation of 609 meters above sea level. It is a winding and steep route that takes cyclists through some of the island’s most beautiful and rugged terrain, including volcanic landscapes, rocky cliffs, and sweeping ocean views.

Tabayesco offers a variety of hiking trails that are suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. It is a great destination for hikers who want to explore the island’s natural beauty and rich history. One of the most popular hikes in Tabayesco is the route that leads to the top of the Tabayesco Hill. This hike takes around 2-3 hours to complete and offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The trail is relatively easy to follow, and there are plenty of beautiful viewpoints along the way. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced hiker, there is a trail in Tabayesco that is perfect for you.

Alfredo Della Savia

Great host and always there to help with any request!

Chedey Fuentes

I have traveled to many places in the world but I must say that it has seemed to me a spectacular space, from the privileged location, its service, attention and respect for the environment. ..Recommendable for both families and young people to spend moments of total disconnection 😊😊

Which accommodation is best for Wheel Chair users?

Arrecife Sands – Wheel Chair user information:  This apartment is all on one floor, has open plan shower and there is a lift up from street level and underground parking. Jumper/Fleece – a jumper for evenings as Lanzarote offers lovely outdoor living and it can be cooler outside at night.

Light waterproof jacket  –  incase it showers (which is not very often but can catch you out)

Wetsuits – if you are planning getting in the water!

What to pack for Families?

Baby monitor if you are planning to spend evenings out on the terrace.

Calpol, teething gel etc….

Nappies/Swim nappies – you can buy these here but they are very expensive

Milk Powder – again very expensive and they may not have your usual brand
