Contacts List:

INFO HUT: It is located behind the pool area and is open from
9 am – 2 pm. Our staff is happy to answer any questions, organize activities, and book excursions. There are guide maps to take away and a computer to use if you need to print off boarding passes/tickets. In need of contact outside office hours, please contact our staff by WhatsApp on 0034 674 43 20 82.

WIFI: In each accommodation, there is wifi network without any password. There is also a wifi zone by the Info Hut and pool area. The network is Finca de Arrieta Fibre Optic and the password is fincadearrieta1.

ENERGY: Finca De Arrieta uses the latest renewable technology and provides an alternative luxurious holiday. All of the properties are “off the grid”, allowing our guests to experience that living with solar panels and wind turbines is possible. To maintain the environmental credentials we ask for responsible use of the electricity during stay with simple actions such as ensuring that the lights are turned off during absence. Most outdoor lighting is controlled by timers or sensors. Also in order to conserve energy, we do not fit our properties with high-energy consumption goods such as dishwashers, TV, electric kettle, electric water heaters, high watt light bulbs, irons, etc. If you are feeling cold find spare blankets and hot water bottles in your accommodation (in the closet, drawer, or under the bed). If it is not enough we would love to offer you a heater, same as a hairdryer or iron if it is necessary.

VENTILATION: If it is in the yurt, to promote the circulation of air inside the yurt, the bottom overlapping sides can be rolled up. Our staff removes the top on request only during the summer months. It should be a fan in each accommodation, if you don´t find any ask for one at Info Hut.

WATER: The tap water is perfectly fine for washing and cooking however we do recommend using bottled water for drinking. Please use our water machine in the honesty shop to refill your bottles, as it reduces our plastic waste.

HOT WATER: To get hot water it is normally necessary to let the water run for a few minutes. If hot water does not come out at all, please let us know as soon as possible to resolve it. Please save on “water use” wherever possible, we use our own well water.  Remember there are no natural water sources on the island. If you do have to run water and wait for it to warm, don’t worry too much as it can be reused in the gardens.

TOILET: The sewer system on the island requires all residents to take care when using the toilets. Please do not put any toilet paper or sanitary items in the toilet and use the bin provided. Please take the bags to the refuse area, in the main parking area.

RUBBISH DISPOSAL: Food scraps, including peels or fruit skins, can be given to our animals. General rubbish and toilet waste bags should be taken to the grey container by the exit of the areal to the left of the recycling bins.

RECYCLING: Please separate and use the correct bin for glass (green bin), paper & cardboard (blue bin) & plastic containers, cans & cartons (yellow bin).  Recycling bins are in the pool area and in the main car park. Please return our own reusable containers to Honesty Shop.

PARKING: The main car park is located right at the entrance of the farm. Hybrid or electric cars can be parked in the rear of Eco-Luxury Yurt Suite or in the area by the Eco Tower. Please reverse park your vehicles.

HONESTY SHOP WITH FRIDGE AND FREEZER:
The honesty shop is located next to the info Hut and is always open. You could find many items including nice homemade meals readily available to eat in Fridge or take out from the Freezer and be ready for lunch or dinner. Find your own accommodation’s billing sheet, put your name on it and add items with prices and pay later. The same system you could find in the fridge with drinks in the communal area by the pool.

FOOD DELIVERY: Find a menu in your accommodation and use the services of our chef who will deliver meals to your fridge ready to warm up and eat or join him on special evenings in a communal area by the pool.

LEFTOVER: Help us with not wasting food. Take advantage of leftovers in the communal kitchen from clients who have just left and leave yours there as well.

OVEN/GRILL: Use a match or lighter. For two options, go to the grill or oven symbol and press to start the gas flow. Locate the grills within the oven, light the top (front) for the grill and bottom (front) for the oven. Hold on the button for at least 10 seconds

LAUNDRY AND CLEANING SERVICE: You can use our laundry service available for a small charge, leaving your clothes in a provided bag next to the Honesty Shop. Fill a bag with laundry, put on a label with your accommodation name, leave it there and our staff collect it early morning (around 8:00) and deliver it back the same day, washed and hanging on your drying line. There is no daily cleaning provided. Every 4th day is cleaning provided to all clients who are staying more than 7 nights. All cleaning equipment you should find in your accommodation, for spare garbage bags look under the sink, for brush and mop, look outside or in some cabinet. If you would like to have a mini clean, order it with Info Hut.

SWIMMING POOL: The swimming pool is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. You could borrow many diving goggles, snorkels, and toys. By Info Hut you could find also surfs, bodyboards, parasols, water shoes, and other beach equipment for borrowing. We invite you to use the space around the pool also after swimming, just keep in mind that any noise will reach the neighboring houses. Be careful on the white areas around the pool.

PLAYGROUND: Try our trampoline, swings, or chess on the left side by the exit of the areal. Children should be supervised in these areas, please leave the areas tidy.

ANIMALS: You don´t have to worry about any dangerous animals around (ignore signs perros peligrosos). In our eco-village, you could meet only our very friendly cat Zack and sometimes also geckos which bring a luck! Next to the playground, you could visit chickens, ducks, and donkeys and feed them with leftover food. They love any fruits or vegetables and it peels except onions. Serve yourself fresh eggs from the chicken house. Only animals that could disturb your holidays are mosquitos sometimes so sleep under the nets provided and we recommend closing any doors or windows without screens from early evening onwards.

ZEN YURT: The sports activities and massages take place in the Zen Yurt, just behind the Garden Cottage and Tower. Find sign-up sheets in the communal area or ask for private classes. You are welcome to use it when it is free for your own stretch or relaxation, just please close the door when leaving.

DEPARTURE DAY: Check-out time is 10 a.m. Please wash the dishes and leave the house or yurt tidy as well as turn out all the lights, take out the bins, close all doors and leave the house key in the door. Please ensure you don’t leave any belongings such as chargers etc behind and that any expenses (wine, honesty shop, laundry, etc.) pending are settled.

LANZAROTE INFORMATION

Lanzarote is the fourth largest island in the Canary Islands archipelago. Since 1993, the island has been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, which has strengthened the island’s commitment to addressing tourism in a sustainable and culturally significant way.

From the spectacular volcanic landscape of Timanfaya National Park, the intricate formations of Jameos Del Agua caves to Lanzarote’s action-packed beaches Lanzarote have a depth and beauty that make it a totally unique place to visit.

Created 35 million years ago, the island had early settlers dating back to 1100BC. The last volcanic eruption began in 1730 and lasted a total of 2053 days, ravaging the south of the island, creating 32 new volcanoes, destroying 11 villages, and covering a quarter of the island’s surface with lava.

The mild temperatures and the sun present throughout the year make Lanzarote one of the favourite destinations for travelers of different nationalities. The combination of traditional villages and incredible beaches, natural beauty, and the perfect climate attract many visitors to the island year after year.

Without a natural water source, running water is desalinated seawater. Despite the lack of rain or springs, the land is extremely fertile and agriculture still plays a significant role in the life of the island.

The well-established wine industry, mainly located in La Geria, produces delicious wines that are enjoyed by both locals and visitors in a respectful manner.

What the architecture of the island looks like is associated with César Manrique (24 April 1919 – September 25, 1992). He is an artist, sculptor, environmentalist, and landscaper, his influence and style can be seen throughout the island. His works are varied and often very visible, such as the incredible “Wind Toys” found in many roundabouts. His two houses, Taro de Tahiche (Foundation of Manrique) and House of Museum (Haría) are open to visitors. Through his strong influence, the island has managed to maintain the main features of traditional architecture: white houses and low-rise buildings. It is difficult to imagine how Lanzarote would have developed without the role that Manrique played and his love and passion for the island is evident to all. Lanzarote enjoys a fairly quiet pace of life, giving visitors the opportunity to explore, discover and relax during their stay.
