Introducing Sara
Anyone who’s stayed at Finca de Arrieta recently will have met Sara, our super smiley Assistant Manager. Here’s a little more info on why she came to Lanzarote and what she loves doing when she’s not sitting behind the desk at the Info Hut.
How long have you worked at Lanzarote Retreats and what is your role?
I came six months ago, initially for a two-month internship to help at the Info Hut at Finca de Arrieta. Because it is so amazing here, I extended my trip and am now Assistant Manager.
Where are you from originally?
I come from a small town in the Czech Republic close to the German border.
Where are you based in Lanzarote?
I am now based in Punta Mujeres.
If you had to have a favourite LR property, which would it be and why?
It is really hard to say! I am lucky in that I’ve stayed in many of the properties and each one has something special to offer. I really like the Eco-Luxury Farmhouse for its special atmosphere and kitchen with sea view. Out of the yurts, I am not sure if I’d choose the Eco Beach Yurt or Eco Yurt Royale as my favourite, because both have amazing outside areas.
What’s your favourite thing to do in Lanzarote?
Again, it’s hard to choose because I started a lot of new activities here including surfing and windsurfing. And I am enjoying all of them!
Where do you most like to spend time on the island?
Playa de la Canteria near Orzola. Especially when the waves are clear, and the sun is shining. It has such a special atmosphere that’s hard to put into words.
Where’s the best place to eat?
El Chiringuito on the beach and El Pasito in Arrieta. Both are really simple, by the ocean with great views and a nice vibe.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Surfing, windsurfing or yoga.
