The 2017 Ironman Lanzarote will be the 26th edition of this incredible event. For sporting endeavour there is not much that surpasses the ironman distance. This Lanzarote event holds legendary status as the worlds toughest event. Organized by the World Triathlon Corporation, it consists of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile (42.20 km) run, raced in that order and without a break.

On race day, the event’s two-lap swim course takes place at Playa Grande, Puerto del Carmen, the main tourist resort of the island. The bike course is well known for challenging athletes with strong winds, and leads athletes around the island with over 2551 meters of climbing. Participants will enjoy amazing views and will have lots of support from volunteers along the way. Finally, the 3-lap run course leads competitors along the flat sea front of Puerto del Carmen, towards the airport and back. Hundreds of athletes set off early morning entering the ocean, some pro’s will finish in world-class times less than 9 hours later.
