Lanzarote Retreats collaborates with Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support’s goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.

On 16th of May, Macmillan’s House of Lords vs House of Commons Tug of War will take place once again in the beautiful surroundings of Westminster Abbey College Gardens. This unique event is a key fundraiser for Macmillan. The evening attracts around 600 people and guests will enjoy champagne and canapés followed by ten high-energy tug of war matches, culminating in the contest between the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

Lanzarote Retreats will be collaborating with the Silent Auction, donating a week stay at Finca de Arrieta for 2 adults and 2 children. Last year, Macmillan Cancer Support raised an incredible £113,500 at this event and from Lanzarote Retreats we are all hoping to achieve even more this year! The recent statistic shows that now 2.5 million people are living with cancer, which means we need to work together even harder to ensure that no one faces cancer alone.

If you are in the area on May 16th, you will have the opportunity to watch an array of talented teams take each other on in battles of strength and skill. The Lords will also take on the Commons in the much anticipated annual parliamentary match, whilst an electric atmosphere unfolds as lively supporters cheer on the sideline.

Prepare to be entertained by an incredible display of talent whilst you enjoy a wonderful Champagne reception as the summer sun sets on London. Unlimited drink and delicious standing bowl food is served throughout.

I can’t make it to the event but I’d like to donate. How do I do that? Please donate by calling 020 7840 4800 to pay over the phone with credit or debit card.
