TEAM CELEBRATES LANZAROTE RETREATS 10TH ANNIVERSARY

Many of you will have heard the news – we are 10!

Yes 10 years ago – back in December, 2007, we opened Finca de Arrieta with not much more than a yurt and a crazy dream. The dream being to create an ‘eco village’ – a luxury holiday experience that nurtures the stunning environment that surrounds this area of unspoiled natural beauty.

That dream has been realised, 10 years on and that single yurt has become an eco village, a stunning collection of luxury yurts and stone cottages that has helped, not only to change the way people think of Lanzarote, but also to make a real contribution to how people think of eco holidays in general. We are now fully off-grid, all our power is generated from the sun and wind, we recently added our own solar powered water desalination plant, that pulls water from our 100 year old well to produce fresh water that supplies the entire village (see our recent post on this HERE).

However this is not the end of the dream, far from it, these days we dream even bigger. To this regard there is a lot more news coming in the New Year. Watch this space!!

So much like we often do, the team all got together, but this time not for a work meeting, more as a celebration. It was also a chance to unveil the Finca de Arrieta Centaur, our Eco Guardian, there to symbolise the importance of our landscape and the need to protect it. The Centaur was created in Bali from salvaged materials and made the long journey here by boat.
