WALK THE ROCK 2023 – 30TH NOVEMBER – 7TH DECEMBER
Late November 2023, as the temperature cools down and the trade winds drop, Lanzarote Retreats, in partnership with Blackstone Treks & Tours, is offering a small group of people the exclusive opportunity to walk some of the most beautiful paths of Lanzarote over five days. An eco-discovery adventure not to be missed. This year we have added a number of stops which include a luxury winery and other gourmet delights as well as a craft market and clifftop walk.

The daily walks will be of moderate intensity and range from 6km to 14.5 km per day, no problem for anyone reasonably healthy.
During the guided walks, we will be traversing some of the most traditional and tranquil areas of Lanzarote, learning about the history, geology, culture, ways of life, and endemic fauna and flora. Jose, our experienced tour guide, is extremely knowledgeable about Lanzarote geology and he will also recommend local restaurants, wineries, and craft makers along the route.
Guests will be accommodated at Finca de Arrieta, enjoying the experience of Eco-Glamping by staying in Mongolian yurts, or if they prefer, one of the stylish cottages.
The walking group will be of no more than 14 people, as we believe that small groups provide you with the best personal approach and possible experience. We will personally pick you up every morning and return you to your accommodation after the daily walks.

Prices start from just €1230 per person/approx £1080 (7 nights) for two people sharing one accommodation.
Price includes; Seven breakfasts, five packed lunches/tapas, airport transfers, and private accommodation with en suite at Finca De Arrieta (please specify if you prefer a yurt or cottage).
The price does not include evening meals, but please join us at your discretion, we will arrange different restaurants each evening for us to meet as a group. The wine-tasting tour at the end of the walk on Tuesday is also optional. Please bring your own personal equipment such as walking shoes/boots, poles, sun protection, warm clothes, raincoat, hat/cap, and water.

Arrive at Arrecife Airport where a Lanzarote Retreats representative will welcome you and drive you to your accommodation at Finca De Arrieta. This service includes a bottle of chilled sparkling Cava for you to enjoy on the arrival journey.
FRIDAY 1 ST DECEMBER 2023
8.00 am – Breakfast by the pool at Finca de Arrieta
10.00 am – meet Jose / Raquel from Blackstone Treks & Tours at the info hut at Finca De Arrieta.
Details for stage 1, Ye – Maguez, THE CLIFFS
We will walk across the ravines and valleys passing Aloe Vera plantations, cultivated terraces, endemic flora and amazing panoramic views. Stop offs; Restaurant Volcano de la Corona for a coffee or snack, Los Roferos, Maguez or Haria Sociedad.

- A spectacular cliff walk taking place on the northern mountain massif of the island, enjoying stunning views of the Chinijo Archipelago, Famara Bay and the central plain of Lanzarote. Finishing at the village of Maguez

- 14.50km
- 822 m ascent/770m descent
- The longest walk of the week. This walk joins the two most important historical villages of Lanzarote. Traditional architecture and the history of the island and ways of life will meet us on this walk. Stop in Haria Market, Mirador de las Nieves (snacks), La Cantina Teguise for tapas & drinks
SUNDAY 3RD DECEMBER 2023

Details for stage 3, Natural Park of the Volcanoes, THE VOLCANOES

- 6.5 km
- 235m ascent/235m descent
- The shortest walk of the week where we will discover the incredible and unique volcanic landscape of the island, shaped by one of the most important eruptions over the last 500 years of mankind. After the walk, we will drive to the village of Mancha Blanca to enjoy a tapas lunch in a traditional bar right in front of the most important church on the island
MONDAY 4TH DECEMBER 2023 (REST DAY)
This is your well deserved “Rest Day”! Enjoy the lovely spaces at Finca De Arrieta such as the pool area or just finds a hammock to swing in to relax. Walk over to the stunning golden sand beach at Arrieta for a swim and recharge or of course many places you can explore by car (just book on arrival) including caves, view points, cactus gardens etc.

Details for stage 4, Uga – Bodega Stratus, THE VINEYARDS

- 375m ascent/356m descent
- On this day we walk through the unique wine district of Lanzarote. Right after the 18th-century eruptions, the farmers of Lanzarote started to cultivate grapes in a very singular way. We finish our walk visiting Bodega Stratus, the newest fo the island. In this place, they have been able to blend the old traditions with the most modern wine-making technology
WEDNESDAY 6TH DECEMBER 2023

Details for stage 5, Soo – Famara, THE COASTAL WALK

- 10Km
- 150m ascent/256 descent
- We walk from the old agricultural village of Soo to the former fisherman’s village of Famara, today a surf mecca. We cross one of the most important natural spaces of the island, the semi desertic area of El Jable continuing our walk to our final destination of the week.
