The central part of the island, La Geria, is one of the most fascinating wine regions in the world. Just seeing the amazing work of deep, circular wine pits creating a beautiful pattern in the volcanic ash, makes you wonder how much work these wine fields require. An insane amount!  Most work in La Geria is done manually, each plant taken care of separately, each slope of loose black picon carefully broomed behind.
